Syrup made out of carrots is a natural remedy for cough


Carrots syrup can be also consumed as juice because of it’s health benefits for the cough and immune system.

Although we experience it as an ordinary vegetable, the carrot is still the king of vegetables – contains low amount of calories, it is super nutritive and therefore very salubrious. It is extremely rich with carotenoids which are converted into an active form of vitamin A in the body. It is also a good source of vitamins B, C and K and minerals like calcium, iron, potassium, manganese, magnesium and phosphorus.

Because of the carotenoids, vitamin A which is very important for the health of the eyes, this vegetable is excellent for strengthening the immune system and improving the work of the intestines.

Carrots are also a balm for respiratory problems like colds, coughs, bronchitis and asthma. Syrup made out of carrots is a traditional natural remedy for cough.

We present you two variants of preparation for this syrup that is recommended in amounts of 3 to 4 teaspoons daily.

  1. Needed ingredients:
  2. 2.5 dl of fresh carrot juice;
  3. 2 tablespoons of honey;
  4. A little bit of water.

Briefly boil the carrot juice alongside the honey and water, while constantly stirring.

  • Needed ingredients:
  • ½ kg of carrots;
  • 4 tablespoons of honey.

Clean the carrots and chop them into little wheels. Put them in a bowl and pour the water so they will be covered.

Braise until the carrots are cooked. Remove them from the water and mash them with a blender or a mixer. You need to wait for the water in which they were cooked to cool and then add the honey and the blended carrots in it.
